Examination of the Unsealed Federal Complaint Against Luigi Mangione. (Part 1: Dissecting and analyzing the Prosecution's Timeline and Narrative. Btw…It's Not Adding Up…)
The DOJ(s)' Narrative/Timeline is flawed and demonstrably incorrect in many key areas. We dissect and analyze the Unsealed Federal Complaint's Timeline up to the time of the murder in this Part 1.

INTRODUCTION (OPINION AND DISCLAIMER):
There is something wrong with this case, or at least I feel there is something wrong with it. Since December 4, the day Brian Thompson was gunned down by an unknown gunman in front of the Hilton-Midtown/Manhattan, I have been combing through everything. This case caught my attention for a number of reasons; the main reason being the inconsistencies in the messaging from the New York Police Department (“NYPD”), the office of New York County District Attorney Avlin Bragg’s office (“Bragg’s office”), and the almost Pandemic-like way the media has blindly parroted every statement that comes out of the NYPD and/or Bragg’s office (yes…even the new, “independent,” conservative media on Rumble). This case and the way it is being handled by the Departments of Justice and all other parties that are considered plaintiffs felt wrong, feels wrong, looks wrong, smells wrong, sounds wrong…so most likely, something IS wrong.
HOW I GOT INTERESTED IN THIS CASE:
When something is not fitting snugly into what is the normal pattern of murder cases (or any case), I just have to look into it. I am not working for anybody, haven’t been hired by Mangione’s defense counsel (though I would definitely be open to it), haven’t been assigned by DailyClout (the host of my show INVESTIGATE EVERYTHING), and I don’t know anyone on either side of the case nor do I have a bias towards or against the Plaintiffs or the Defendant. I only am focused on due process and justice, no matter who is on either side of a case.
I have worked many murder cases for legal defense teams as the defense counsel’s private investigator/investigative researcher. The majority of those cases that we won had the same look and feel of this case. More specifically, like this case, much of the Plaintiffs’ case simply doesn’t line up, fit, make sense, or parties that make up the collective Plaintiffs are constantly contradicting each other and themselves. Many timelines seem at odds with themselves and other official timelines and many of the official narratives seem to change significantly and constantly. Every case that I have helped win for defense counsel looked just like this case from the onset.
So yes, in my opinion, there’s something wrong with this case and my goal is to investigate everything about it and find out what that is. As I see it, with all the obvious issues and down right sloppiness in the Plaintiff’s case, should this case move forward as is, and should this person be found guilty (based on the State’s current case against Mangione….in as much as we can currently see it), then our justice system should be the thing we, as Americans, should fear the most.
There’s something wrong with this case and we need to figure out what it is. That’s why I am here and that’s why I hope you are here too. So let’s begin.
CASE SUMMARY (My version, based on most official and unofficial information available to the public):
(Note: This narrative summary of the case is inteneded for those who are unfamiliar with the case or have little knowledge of it and is NOT part of the official document which we focus on in this article)
On December 4th, 2024 Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare’s Insurance branch of the larger UnitedHealth Group, was murdered by an unidentified assasailant who shot him three times as Mr. Thompson walked by the Hilton hotel on the morning of a scheduled investors conference. Brian Thompson (“Victim”) was supposed to be attending the UnitedHealth Group’s Annual Investors Conference at the New York Hilton in Midtown Manhattan, which was scheduled to begin at 8:00 am, ET. He was shot at approximately 6:44 am and later pronounced dead at 7:12 am.
Based on publicly available security camera footage and still frames taken from that footage, the unknown shooter was dressed in a black or dark hooded jacket, wore a black face covering (which looked similar to a neck-gator), and used what appeared to be a handgun with a suppressor attached to the front. The shooter did not appear to be wearing gloves. The shooter DID appear to be carrying (over both shoulders) a distinct, light grey backpack.
Publicly available video showed that the shooter appeared to be cycling each round of his handgun with proficiency. It seemed as if the shooter expected the handgun to require manual cycling of each round indicating he had practiced prior to the shooting with that particular weapon.
In my opinion, based of viewing the available footage of the murder, the shooter did not seem to act in an erratic, excited, or confused fashion. Rather, the shooter appeared to move calmly, methodically, and deliberatley throught he entire commission of the murder.
Also at the scene, and at the time of the shooting, there appeared to be a woman smoking a cigarette and holding a large coffee cup (similar to a “Venti” sized take away cup one might get at a Starbucks) who fled the scene after the second round was fired but did not drop her coffee even as she fled.
There was also a black SUV parked two cars up from a delivery truck that illuminated its lights almost at the very moment Brian Thompson came into view. As soon as the shooter fired his last shot and Brian Thompson appeared to fall to the ground, the shooter glanced to his right (in the direction of the now slain Brian Thompson), then to his left where he appear to look directly at the SUV or its driver as the shooter moved toward the left side of the sidewalk. The shooter then crossed in front of this SUV and fled across West 54th street towards 6 1/2 Avenue.
In the hours and moments following the breaking of the news of this murder a massive manhunt was soon under way. The New York Police Department (“NYPD”) soon called for public assistance to be on the lookout for anyone that matched the description of the shooter.
Up until December 5th, 2024 at about 11am, the following images were the only images available to the public to help identify the shooter:

The original 911 call that came in at about 6:48am about this murder described the shooter as wearing a “cream colored coat” and “black leather gloves” which seems to be a different description than the person pictured in the official NYPD postings and public service announcements.
Chief of Detectives Kenny (“Chief Kenny”) also repeated this description of a a person in a “cream colored coat” as a press conference held later that day. On December 5th, at approximately 11:05 am, the New York Police Department (“NYPD”) released an image of a person-of-interest (“POI”) which showed a white male in a brown or cream colored coat and a face that resembled who we now know to be Luigi Mangione, the prime and sole suspect in this case.
This new footage was reportedly captured on November 24th, 2024 by a security camera at an upper west side hostel named “The HI New York Hostel” on West 104th St and Amsterdam Ave, roughly 3.4 miles away (“Hostel”). Early reporting and press conferences that followed reported that the footage was sent to the police following the murder from the Hostel as a Hostel employee had recognized the shooter as a person who had checked into the hostel at about 11:00 pm some ten days earlier. According to statements by the NYPD and earlier media reporting, the desk clerk at the Hostel had asked this person to remove their mask and the two reportedly flirted with each other, hence having the image of this person’s face:

Skipping ahead to the 9th of December 2024.
Eventually a man who resembled the above photos was reportedly seen sitting in a McDonalds in Altoona, Pennsylvania eating a hashbrown and “acting suspicious.” Altoona police swept in and the man was taken into custody on the morning of December 9th, 2024. He was later identified by the Blair County (Pennsylvania) police as Luigi Mangione based Mangione eventually identifying himself as Luigi Mangione and also on a real passport found in his possession. Blair County authorities also reported that Luigi Mangioni had in his possession the following items (at the time of the arrest):
“a silver laptop”
“a backpack”
“a New Jersey Driver’s license, bearing the name Mark Rosario and a date of birth 07/21/1998.”
Later, after Mangione was arrested and taken to an Altoona Police Department station, a search of the backpack revealed the following items:
“a black 3D-printed pistol and a black silencer.”
“one loaded Glock magazine with six nine-millimeter full metal jacket rounds.”
“one loose nine-millimeter hollow point round.”
At the time of this arrest and the submission of the accompanying “Police Criminal Complaint” (submitted at “15:13” or 3:13 pm) Luigi Mangione had yet to be fingerprinted, photographed, or swabbed for DNA since the initial encounter and apprehension of Mangione about five hours earlier:

Following the events of December 9th, 2024, Luigi Mangionia was officially named as the prime (and only) suspect in the murder of Brian Thompson by both the Pennsylvania and New York Departments of Justice.
Since then multiple charges have been filed in both Pennsylvania and New York City and some of those charges have been enhanced or escalated. He was also susequently charged with additional crimes by Bragg’s office as well as federal charges including two counts of stalking, one count of a firearms offense, and one count of murder through the use of a firearm, the latter of which carries the potential for a death sentence. On December 19th Luigi Mangione was extradited from Pennsylvania to New York where he was received by a massive crowd of Luigi Mangione supporters, an army of media, members of the New York City and New York County Departments of Justice, various law enforcement officials from multiple agencies, and even the Mayor of New York City himself, Mayor Eric Adams. Mangione’s defense team later argued that this display was unnecessary and prejudicial. At the present time, Luigi Mangione has entered “Not Guilty” pleas on all charges in all jurisdictions.

The following analysis is based on the Unsealed Federal Complaint submitted to the US District Court, Southern District of New York. There are a lot of issues with the official timeline and narrative contained in the filed complaint (below). This complaint is full of errors, time stamps that don’t make sense, and even statements that are not supported by any demonstrable facts. Here I have gone through the complaint and explain what my analysis and research has revealed as either incorrect on the part of complaintent, in this case Gary W. Cobb, Special Agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation, et al.

A Note on Sources: Please note that this analysis and reporting is based solely on information that has been made available to the public or can be publicly retrieved. No sources in this report are “unnamed”. It is assumed that Bragg’s office, the Federal DOJ, and the Defense Counsel are privy to information that is not available to the public, so my assessments, analysis, and conclusions are subject to change as this case evolves and more information is made available to the public.
My Analysis of this document begins here…
“November 24, 2024“
“a. On November 24, 2024, at approximately 10:11 p.m., the Shooter arrived in New York City on an intercity bus at the Port Authority bus terminal in Manhattan. The bus originated in Atlanta, Georgia.”
“b. The Shooter took a taxi to the area around the Midtown Hotel and stayed in the area for approximately one hour before taking another taxi to a hostel located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan (the “Hostel”). b. The Shooter registered at the Hostel under the name “Mark Rosario” and provided a false New Jersey driver’s license as a form of identification (the “False New Jersey ID”). A photograph of the False New Jersey ID is provided below:”
“c. When the Shooter was checking in at the Hostel, the desk clerk asked the Shooter to remove his mask, which he did, revealing his face to a security camera, as shown below.”
“Other than this interaction with the desk clerk, the Shooter consistently kept his mask on throughout his time in New York, including while inside the Hostel.”
ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY: According to the official narrative, a desk clerk at the "HI New York Hostel" (50 streets north of the Hilton or about 3.4 miles away by eBike) reportedly recognized the Shooter from the images released by the NYPD on December 4th...
...as being the same man who had checked into the Hostel ten days earlier on November 24 at approximately 11pm (Note: The following images were released to the public by the NYPD on December 5, 2024 but were originally captured on November 24, 2024 at approximately 11PM at the Hostel by its security cameras. The images were NOT captured near or in the vicinity of the murder scene and, to date, the face that appears in these images has not been phtographed at the murder scene on any photos released to the public):
This part of the case bothers me as I just am not sure how anyone could recognize these two people as being the same.
The only similarities between the people featured in the Hostel/November 24th images (released December 5th) and the Starbucks/December 4th images seem to be as follows: - Both appear to be white males; - Both are wearing coats with hoods; - Both appear to be wearing neck "gators" (neck/face scarves); ...that's it. -There is no "distinct, grey backpack" with the man at the hostel (left images); -The coats appear to be very different styles, designers, fabric, and colors; (different styles, different amount of breast pockets, different shoulders [padded and unpadded], different material [the man in the Starbucks appears to be wearing a coat made of gortex or similar material based on the sheen given off by the overhead lights]); -and, well...they just look like two different people...in my opinion. To be able to say that the man showing his face in the picture on the left resembles the man with the black jacket with the mask in the picture on the right is like saying two pickup trucks resemble each other solely based on both vehicles being pickup trucks. END COMMENTARY AND ANALYSIS.
“December 4, 2024”
“7. d. On December 4, 2024, at approximately 5:35 a.m., the Shooter left the Hostel wearing the Gray Backpack and rode an electric bicycle down Central Park West to a location near the Midtown Hotel, as shown below: “
ANALYSIS ANND COMMENTARY: The official report stated that the first photo shows shooter leaving the hostel with a greyback pack. However, the first image above actually shows the shooter leaving the Frederick Douglass Houses and pivoting slightly to the right as if to walk down Columbus. He also appears to be carrying a large, rectangular object which may be a lithium battery for an ebike.
The second photo is indicated in the official report as "a location near the Midtown Hotel, shown beow:". However, analysis of that photo reveals that it was actually taken at Central Park West and Columbus only a few blocks from the Hostel but nowhere near midtown:
The official narrative for both of the locations in section d is misleading and possibly incorrect. KEY TAKEAWAY: In the entire complaint there are actually no pictures of the shooter with the grey backpack at, in, or outside of the Hostel. The closest to the hostel that the shooter with the grey packback is shown (in this complaint) is at the Frederick Douglass Houses’ Columbus street entrance/exit at 870 Columbus Avenue. This seems odd as the complaint contains security photographs from inside the HI New York Hostel from the 24th of November but does not include photos from inside of the Hostel on the day of the shooting. The only photos included of this area from December 4th make it impossible to get a clear picture (if any) of the shooter’s face or even close up and more clear photos of the shooter himself. KEY INTELLIGENCE QUESTION: Why does the complaint NOT contain photos from the security camera inside of the Hostel on the day of the shooting?
“7. e. At approximately 5:41 a.m., the Shooter walked around the area of the Midtown Hotel and at one point purchased items from a nearby coffee shop. The Shooter then returned to a bench in the vicinity of the Midtown Hotel. On at least one occasion, prior to the murder, the Shooter was depicted using a cellphone.”
COMMENTARY AND ANALYSIS: The official DOJ narrative states that the shooter made the trip from the Hostel to the area of the Midtown Hotel (the Hilton-Midtown) in six minutes. According to Google Maps on IOS, the trip from HI New York City Hostel (891 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10025) to 56th and 6th Avenue takes about 15 minutes via an eBike (power assisted pedalling…essentially faster than a traditional bike). Based on my calculations, even if a person on an eBike left the HI New York City Hostel at 5:35 am, pedalled fast enough to reduce the average time by half (10 minutes), the earliest they could arrive would be 5:45 am (10 minutes). The Hilton-Midtown (1335 6th Ave, New York, NY 10019 [W 54th & 6th]) would take about 3 minutes longer (these times are the same at 5:35 am as they are throughout the day, according to Google Maps).
(cont'd): According to the New York City Department of Transportation the fastest eBike allowed to be operated in the city is a Class 3 eBike which has a maximum, governored speed of 25 mph.
(Source: New York City DOT: Bicyclists Electric Bicycles & More https://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/bicyclists/ebikes.shtml)
(ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY [cont'd]): Even if the shooter was riding at the top allowable speed of 25 mph it would still take the shooter 8 minutes and 16 seconds to make the trip from the hostel to the area near the Hilton-Midtown, assuming they did not stop or slow down. This offical timeline states, again, that the shooter made the trip in about 6 minutes: 5:35 am (W104th and Amsterdam, Upper West Side): Shooter exits the hostel and starts heading towards midtown. 5:41 am ("area of the Midtown Hotel," near W54th and 6th, Midtown): "At approximately 5:41 a.m., the Shooter walked around the area of the Midtown Hotel and at one point purchased items from a nearby coffee shop." In summary, it seems that based on this timeline and previous timelines released to the press by the NYPD on the day of the murder and the days that followed, the Plaintiffs are not certain when the shooter left the area of the Hostel. Additionally, based on my analysis of section 7.d. of the complaint, the Plaintiffs do not seem to know exactly where the shooter began his trip to the Hilton on December 4th. END COMMENTARY AND ANALYSIS
From Subsection 7e, (above): “On at least one occasion, prior to the murder, the Shooter was depicted using a cellphone.“

New York Times: “UnitedHealthcare C.E.O. Killed in ‘Brazen, Targeted Attack,’ Police Say” December 4th, 2024 by By Christina Kelso, Alex Pena and Aric Toler. https://www.nytimes.com/video/nyregion/100000009858797/unitedhealthcare-ceo-midtown-manhattan-shooting.html
New York Post: A timeline of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s murder,” December 5, 2024 | 1:12pm by Staff. https://nypost.com/video/unitedhealthcare-ceo-assassination-a-timeline/)
Analysis and Commentary: The only NYPD footage that the public has seen of the shooter on his cell phone is at 6:29 am, according to an NYPD video from "Crimestoppers." This footage, pictured below, was featured in multiple reported timelines published by the New York Times, the New York Post, ABC New York, and more. There’s only one (big) problem with this image in the context of those timelines and this official timeline: The timestamp on the video says 7:29 am. But every outlet that showed this NYPD-branded video narrated it as showing the shooter talking on his phone around 6:30am or "just before the shooting." (Note: Direct reference to this video is not specifically cited in this complaint).
NOTE: It is also now believed that the cell phone video was captured closer to the murder site than originally thought or know. Specifically, in the cell phone video the shooter is walking West on 54th Street approaching an "Ipark" location between the Hilton and 6 1/2 avenue. This is location has been pinpointed and confirmed by the existence of 3 chalk dashes on the sidewalk directly in front of the shooter as he is walking and talking on a cell phone. The camera footage appears to come from "Ipark" (ipark.com) located at 133 W 54th Street, New York, NY 10019. I have called the Ipark at that location but nobody can be reached for comment. I am still trying to determine if the footage's timestamp was off by one hour due to the police and media narrating the wrong time when describing the footage or if it was simply a failure of Ipark to adjust their security cameras for daylight savings time (which occurred on November 3rd, more than a month prior to the shooting).

ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY: If the time is correct (and not some technical glitch) then roughly 45 minutes AFTER Brian Thompson was shot and roughly 17 minutes after he was pronounced dead at 7:12 am, the shooter recorded on video, across the street from the crime scene walking and talking on his cell phone (walking west down 54th, across from the murder scene). What does this mean? Either... A: The lone camera that captured this footage was never reset for daylight savings time (which would need to be mentioned on the affadavit that would normally accompany footage of this nature when submitted as evidence for the case); B. The camera is correct and the shooter was in no hurry to leave the vicinity and walked by again at 7:30am. We just cannot be sure at this time when this video was shot. However, if the police do not verify the state of this camera's internal clock and actual time of the video's creation, it may call into question the veracity of the prosecution’s case which is based almost completely on video footage. Attention or non-attention to details as obvious as this should be noted by the Defense. END ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY
f. “At approximately 6:45 a.m.—after waiting near the Midtown Hotel for approximately an hour—the Shooter saw and approached the Victim, shot the Victim multiple times, and then fled on foot to West 55th Street, where the Shooter mounted the electric bicycle and rode towards Central Park. After disappearing inside the park for a period of time, the Shooter was captured on video again exiting the park near West 77th Street and Central Park West riding north on Central Park West. When he emerged from the park, the Shooter was no longer carrying the Gray Backpack, as shown below:”
ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY: So wait…time out…”after waiting near the Midtown Hotel for approximately an hour” ??? If I were Defense Counsel I would ask the following questions: A. How do the police define “near”? (One block? Two blocks? The same block as the shooting? The Starbucks on 6th and W 56th? etc? etc?) B. How does the Prosecution define “approximately” (in terms of time)? 15 minutes to an hour? 30 minutes to an hour? 45 minutes to an hour? Why is defining these terms of time and distance so important? Because, based on my analysis, the shooter spent a total of 10-12 minutes (tops) actually "laying in wait" across from the Hilton. However, the Prosecution’s official narrative indicates that the shooter waited “near” the hotel for “approximately” an hour. In reality, the shooter only had a small window of time where he actually positioned himself on the opposite side of the hotel and then, just before shooting, on the same side of 54th as the hotel between two vehicles. This is a very small window of time as Brian Thompson was coming from a different location and appeared to be walking by the Hilton, not into the Hilton. Based on this and other official timelines, the shooter only "laid in wait" for no longer then 10 or 12 minutes (rather than an hour) before shooting Brian Thompson as he walked in front of the Hilton. Key Intelligence Question: How would the shooter know that he had time to stop at Starbucks if he didn’t have near-real time or real-time information about the victim’s location as he walked towards the Hilton? How did the shooter know that Brian Thompson would be walking in front of the Hilton approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to the start of the investors conference which was scheduled for 8:00am? What was the man in the grey backpack doing between 5:41am and 6:17am? END ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY
Summary of Part 1: This analysis will be continued in Part 2: Post article and has been divided into two parts due to the length of each part and to clearly dilineate between pre-murder and post-murder timelines, narratives, and analysis.
I just want to say thank. you. so. much. for this analysis and your commitment to following this case.
I've seen so many inconsistencies and problems and I've been struggling to lay them out properly and clearly in my head. Also, seeing nearly every news outlet (Mainstream, and the majority of independent media as well) just assume Luigi Mangione is the killer without taking even a second to look at the plethora of things that don't add up has been very distressing. Not to mention the vitriol and blanket condemnation by the right at large. It truly makes me sick....
It was like a breath of fresh air to read your apology and this breakdown of the evidence we have so far. I'm looking forward to part 2. Keep up the good work, and thank you again!!
This is excellent! A wonderful dissipation of b.s. smell. What stood put to me -- you've not gotten there yet -- the Defense attorney while rightfully exhibiting all the Mayoral NYPD political theater-- then goes on to talk of ab insanity plea? Bcz well, this evidence --so called-- is so damning? Hopefully that's just more theatre.
