I hope you didn't miss my point (which is not clear as I wanted to share that article quickly). Russia is doing Russia and it's business as usual with their role as China's Northern muscle. My point is that the consolidation of power amongst those friendly with China (including Russia) is under reported while the fools in our current administration and their propaganda media teams try to distract us with "Stand with Ukraine/Russia Evil!". The larger point is that it appears we are giving the world to China and it's allies. I said it in early 2020 and I'll say it again here: Biden is a witting or unwitting Trojan horse and now that he is inside the walls of our "Troy" he is helping dismantle our dominance in the world from within. The fact that Russian is endorsing anything Afghanistan related after having their own version of Vietnam in that country should have our government on high alert. Instead they are looking the other way while the Chinese alliance consolidates power via the Belt and Road and trying to distract us with Blue and Yellow pom-poms. This development with Russia, last months tri-lateral naval exercises with Iran, China and Russia in the South China Sea, China just signing a security agreement allowing them to build military bases on the Soloman Islands, their artificial land build out of Mischief Reef with military structures, Biden's intentional angering of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when he first took office, his dismantling of Trump's executive actions that sough to contain China, and every other policy that looks to favor the red dragon seem intentional to me. This ignoring of an historical endorsement as well as the ignoring of most what China does that seems to be "encirclement" on their part is alarming. China China China is the real problem. Russia hasn't changed , they are a mere ally to the real enemy: China.

I was taught to hate Russia, beginning in the 70s, elementary school, USSR hates you, hates America, is coming to kill your family, GET UNDER YOUR DESK for safety from nuclear annihilation! My desk? Oh, so you KNEW that would not save me, nor were they coming for me, you were training me to HATE who YOU wanted me to hate. Russian hate made the military industrial complex, CIA, FBI, NASA, Congress.....a LOT of money. OUR money, our parents money, our children's money. THEY all got extra beachfront mansions, fancy cars, mistresses, pool boys, and immunity from prosecution, while we got fake anxiety, a breach of civil rights, even larger centralized govt, a world of "globalism is needed", a world of disrespect of the farmer, and total corporation domination. Anxiety like that makes your decision making process a little fuzzy. I am sick of THEM telling me, where I should spend my well earned hate. I am sick of cold wars and their dead end agendas. 20 years in Afghanistan, and can anyone make an argument of ANY good? I bet there is an argument of the same people who got rich off of scaring me as a child, also got rich in Afghanistan. Let Russia do Russia.
